The Intensive Families Support Project (IFSP) offered additional help to disengaged families so that they become more able to participate in community activities in a positive way. The project adopted an holistic approach with the family and assessed the needs of the whole household through the completion of a participative support plan.
The core target group were families with a young person aged 9 - 14 who benefited from intensive support. 10 families (referred through appropriate agencies) benefited from this project.
This project has now been completed. There was a multi agency project which consisted of: Social Services, Youth Offending Team, Education Leeds, North East Area Management, the Children’s Centre (formally Sure Start), Space 2 Cluster and Home - Start.
