Potternewton Park Street Play Project Summer Holidays 07
The street Play Project is an open access provision where children can come and go freely. It supports children to play safely in their own communities by providing a range of play experiences such as arts / crafts, tepee, tent and den making, co-operative games, parachute games, sporting activities, challenges and obstacle course making, sand and water play, BBQ’s, camp fire cooking, using mud clay and natural elements, building things with wood and tools. These experiences encourages the children to develop their own ideas and lead the activities with Play Workers, they are there to support and offer guidance. The project inspires children and young people to use resources and their local spaces innovatively and creatively. The project encourages parents / carers to stay and join in with the play. The project is based in Potternewton Park which is a great resource for children and the community to use as their space.
